COVID Safety Procedures

Our camps will necessarily look a little different as we attempt to create the safest environment possible during the COVID era. The following procedures will be in place, in accordance with current state guidelines:

  • All staff, volunteers, and participants will be symptom-checked prior to entering the building each day. Anyone with COVID symptoms and/or a temperature greater than 100 degrees will not be allowed to participate.

  • All participants will be required to arrive wearing a face covering. Face coverings will be kept on throughout the day.

  • We will practice social distancing to the extent possible. Social distancing restrictions will be eased for a limited duration for certain activities throughout the day.

  • Some activities will be conducted outdoors to maximize fresh air access.

It is important to note that while we are taking diligent steps to reduce the possibility of COVID-19 transmission, we cannot eliminate this risk.

Auditions and Roles
Auditions will be held on the first day of the workshop. It is not necessary to prepare any audition material in advance; materials will be provided for you. All participants will be cast, through not all participants will be assigned a named part or speaking role.

Performance
We do not know what level of restrictions will be in place at the time of our planned performance in November. We will perform in front of a live audience if allowed. The performances are scheduled for Friday, November 19th, at 7:30pm and Saturday, November 20th at 7:30pm. Please note: unlike some of our other recent camps, this performance cannot be livestreamed due to licensing restrictions.

Instructor
The instructor for this camp is Amanda Duisenberg. She has appeared in many local productions and has worked in all aspects of staging shows.

Amanda Duisenberg recently returned from New York City where she earned her Masters of Music in Vocal Performance for Musical Theatre and the Advanced Certificate in Vocal Pedagogy at NYU. She completed her undergraduate studies at William Jessup University with degrees in Theatre Arts and Vocal Performance. She has performed, directed and designed sound throughout the Sacramento area for 15 years, receiving four Elly Awards, as well as several other nominations. Directing credits at RCT include Cinderella, Shrek, The Lion King, My Son Pinocchio, Beauty and the Beast, West Side Story, High School Musical, Urinetown, and a plethora of summer and after school camps. Currently she is Voice Faculty at William Jessup University and teaches theatre at John Adams Academy. She is incredibly thankful for the opportunities Rocklin Community Theatre continues to give her and is grateful to call this place home.
